i started my career in journalism at canoe.com (formerly canoe.ca) in 2005 before joining the sun.

back when i was a journalism student at toronto metropolitan university (then known as ryerson university) in the early aughts, i knew i wanted to work at a news site. the media business was experiencing a revolution with the rise of online journalism, and i knew i had to be part of it.

originally from hong kong, i grew up in scarborough and credit my upbringing in the predominantly chinese neighbourhood of agincourt for helping me brush up on my cantonese. though bear in mind, my level of fluency may be limited as i flunked kindergarten before my parents were wise enough to leave for canada.
