two people stabbed in halifax after verbal dispute outside shelter turns violent

halifax regional police have arrested a man in connection with a double stabbing outside a shelter on gottingen street.
police spokeswoman const. mandy paquet said police were called wednesday at 10:15 p.m. after a verbal dispute turned physical and then a knife was pulled.
she said two people were stabbed and taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
paquet didn’t know the nature of the dispute.
the victims and accused are all known to one another, she said.
the suspect was arrested a short time later. he was held in custody pending a court appearance thursday.
he has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
