linda blair is staying “positive” after authorities raided her home in connection with an investigation into a kennel operation.
“i’m checking in because i think it’s really important that i do,” blair said in an instagram video on tuesday.
“this has been quite the experience, and i look at it as a positive,” she said. “we now have more light shed on animal welfare and animal rescue and the plight of the animals than ever before.”
blair, 67, reiterated in the caption that she considers the media coverage of “the recent bizarre event” a “positive,” adding that more press will “unite the world to understand the horrific crisis and plight of the animals!”
she continued: “uplifting to see everyone’s amazing support for the animals! i see great change will come from this time! i take this as a positive for the greater good for the animals! stop animal cruelty and animal abuse! we have the ability to live together with compassion in a cruelty free world!”

what authorities found

blair’s property was searched on friday as part of a joint operation between the los angeles county department of animal care and control and the los angeles county department of regional planning after concerned neighbours reported there were hundreds of dogs there, tmz reported.
neighbours of blair told the outlet that, for years, they have constantly heard cries and howls from dogs that sound like they are in distress.
blair had ignored 24 attempts by county agencies to connect with her about the issue, according to the outlet.
authorities showed up over possible animal neglect and code violations and not only determined the kennel facility’s permits expired in 2023, but also discovered 251 dogs on the property.

the animal advocate downplayed the incident in an instagram post one day after the search was conducted of her southern california home.
“the animals are good in lieu of our surprise visit in 105° heat!,” she revealed.
“turns out we just have some paperwork to do and some diagrams but as everybody knows, i’m looking to move so i can be more educational and help more animals,” she continued. “i’d rather move forward.”
law enforcement told tmz that “no dogs showed signs of illness or injury” — and, for now, no dogs have been seized.
the investigation is ongoing.
