some lucky ladies in toronto have cashed in on drake’s generosity this week.
while the rapper may be known for his wild sports wagers, drake also likes to bet on women — and recognize and celebrate the ladies who make a difference across canada, including media personalities, content creators, entrepreneurs, and business owners.
the “nice for what” rapper hosted his third annual strong women, stronger drinks event on tuesday at casa loma, where select guests went home with new mercedes benz g-wagons and bmws, while others received as much as $100,000.
the welcome gift alone came in the form of $1,000 in cash, according to social media posts.

what is the extravagant event all about?

drizzy explained during a speech captured on video that when he started strong women, stronger drinks it was based on something he attended around 2008.
“there was an event by a lovely woman,” he shared. “she used to do an event called what women want. it was essentially women gathering to network, to socialize, and to be a man at the event you had to work. i always loved that aspect of it. we would show up and work the event because that’s what the event was about.”
drake went on to detail how those in attendance came to be invited.
“these are all incredible women, incredible creators, business owners, people who i deeply respect and i’m grateful for,” drake said.
“all of you are doing incredible things in your respective fields, whether you’re grinding or ascending to the moon or somewhere in between,” he continued. “we hope that you can be social, talk to each other, learn from each other, and we have an incredible evening for you.”

you get a car, and you get a car!

he added: “we’ll do some giveaways and hopefully change some lives and then we’ll go inside and get drunk and do what we’re supposed to do.”

and drake wasn’t kidding about the life-changing giveaways.
clips on social media showed the “god’s plan” artist gifting women $50,000 and $100,000 cash prizes.
one of the winners was tsn’s toronto raptors reporter kayla grey, who received not only a g-wagon from the team’s global ambassador but $50,000 and a birkin bag.
drake drew the winning ticket numbers for each prize, and when grey’s name came up a couple times, the rapper could be heard joking in a video, “they’re going to think this is rigged.”
he immediately insisted it wasn’t, even swearing on his son adonis’ life.
strong women, stronger drinks is the latest event drake has hosted in and around his hometown, following his ovo golf classic charity tournament, and continuing his janice “stfu” apology brunches.
