my hands were stained with newsprint ink early. as a child my first job was delivering my hometown daily newspaper and my route always included a break where i would read the day’s news. that habit both fed and fired my curiosity about my community, the world and the news industry.
that early exposure to news led me to study journalism at carleton university and photojournalism at loyalist college.
i started with the whig-standard in 2011. prior to that i worked at the woodstock sentinel-review and the simcoe reformer.
during my career i have been recognized provincially, nationally and internationally in photography and journalism competitions.
i consider myself a general assignment journalist and i currently cover municipal affairs but my true passion is photojournalism and visual storytelling.
