three people were killed and five others injured at a downtown seattle food festival on sunday.
the incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. as multiple gunshots rang out at the bite of seattle food festival near the city’s space needle in seattle center.
“our officers were there within seconds. they performed emergency aid to the wounded until the seattle fire department was on scene,” seattle police acting chief tyrone davis said in a statement. “simultaneously, officers launched a search for the people responsible for this senseless violence.”
the police indicated that the two shooters were targeting each other. two guns were recovered at the scene, officials said. davis declined to identify the captured suspect, saying only the alleged suspect was “a young person.” the other suspect is still at-large.

the victims
the victims killed were identified as a 19-year-old man, a 44-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman. the names of the deceased weren’t released.
a 23-year-old man, a 39-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a young boy were injured and taken to hospital. hospital officials said the wounded were in stable condition. a 40-year-old woman, who had minor injuries, declined a trip to hospital.
“what happened at the seattle center today was an act of horrific violence,” wilson said in a statement. “impacted families are living through the worst moment of their lives, and an entire community is trying to understand how a gathering built around culture, connection, and joy ended in gunfire.”
on monday morning, harborview medical center spokesperson susan gregg said the toddler is the only victim still in hospital. the hospital says he is in satisfactory condition. the hospital discharged the three injured.
