surrey shooting damages two homes

shots rang out in surrey’s newton neighbourhood on tuesday morning.
the surrey police service said it was called just before 10:45 a.m. about shots being fired near 66th avenue and 129th street in south newton.
a person in a vehicle was seen shooting at a person in another vehicle before both vehicles took off, police said in a news release.
police said two homes were hit, but no injuries were reported.
the motive isn’t known, but investigators don’t believe it’s linked to the recent rash of extortion shootings.
anyone with information about the shooting, or who has dashcam or security video, is asked to call the sps at 604-599-0502.
