pedestrian dies after being struck by car in burnaby

one person has died after being struck by a car in burnaby on monday.
burnaby rcmp say a collision involving a pedestrian on kingsway at edmonds street was reported shortly after 7 p.m.
the vehicle was travelling eastbound on kingsway when the collision occurred. the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and has co-operated with the investigation, according to an rcmp news release on wednesday.
investigators are asking anyone who may have dashcam video or witnessed the collision to call rcmp.
burnaby rcmp’s criminal collision investigation team has taken over the case.
“part of our investigation includes what occurred in the moments before the collision,” said cpl. mike kalanj, a spokesman for the burnaby rcmp.
investigators would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 6 and 7:30 p.m.
