cyclist dead in crash with semi-truck in burnaby

a cyclist is dead after a collision with a semi-truck in burnaby during friday’s morning commute.
burnaby rcmp say it was called about a fatal motor vehicle collision shortly after 8 a.m. on sprott street near kensington avenue.
despite life-saving attempts, the cyclist died at the scene.
burnaby rcmp’s criminal collision investigation team is “working to determine the cause of the crash,” said cpl. laura hirst in a news release. “our investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision.”
the driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and is co-operating with police. impaired driving has been ruled out.
police are asking for anyone that witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage on sprott near kensington, between 7:40 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. on friday, to please contact burnaby rcmp at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2025-42284.
