windsor police are searching for a 38-year-old woman who is suspected in a us$130,000 financial fraud case.
the windsor police financial crimes unit launched an investigation in may after receiving a report of a “large-scale fraud” at a currency exchange, police said in a release.
police say the woman entered a business on the 3200 block of dougall avenue and used a fraudulent canadian passport to obtain $130,000 in u.s. currency ($178,000 canadian).
police are seeking kayla anne black of lowbanks, on.
black is wanted on charges of:
- obtaining by false pretenses over $5,000
- possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- possession of another person’s identification
- uttering a forged passport.
