windsor police have arrested a 66-year-old man after two “violent” sex attacks, including one case where he allegedly tied up his victim, beat her with a metal bar and sexually assaulted her multiple times.
shortly after 11 p.m. on july 31, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in the 1000 block of goyeau street. police said investigators learned the victim had gone with the suspect to his residence, where he became aggressive and violent.
police said the man restrained the victim with rope, repeatedly struck her with fists and a metal bar, threatened her with a knife, robbed her and sexually assaulted her “multiple times.”
the man also threatened to kill her if she told anyone what had happened, according to investigators.
police said the victim was eventually released and went to hospital before contacting police.
members of the windsor police service’s child abuse and sexual assault (casa) unit quickly identified the suspect.
investigators said they also linked the suspect to another incident earlier the same day. in that case, police said a woman reported she was riding in an elevator when the man entered and touched her inappropriately. the victim was able to push him away.
police arrested the suspect on tuesday at a downtown residence.
