manager of montreal seniors' residence charged with fraud

the general manager of a private seniors’ residence in montreal has been charged with fraud and the production of false documents, a quebec anti-corruption body said wednesday.
paul asselin, of les jardins de jouvence in mercier–hochelaga-maisonneuve borough, allegedly produced false invoices for various treatments on behalf of residents in order to obtain reimbursement from the regional health authority.
the fraud is estimated at more than $4,000, according to le commissaire à la lutte contre la corruption, a specialized police force that aims to prevent and fight corruption in the public sector.
asselin was charged with fraud and the production and use of false documents.
he is to appear on may 31 at the montreal courthouse.
