goldie is going for gold — in swimming, apparently. after being abandoned by her owner to the toronto humane society in october 2020, the four-year-old shepherd-mix is ready for her forever home.
and she really likes the water.
“goldie, she’s a unique little gal,” said ths spokesperson hannah sotropa. “she’s got quite the personality. she’s an energizer bunny dog. so she has loads of energy to burn. she can play ball for days. her all-time favourite sport though, which we know because she’s been living in a foster home, is swimming.
“so if you just let her swim, she’ll go all day long,” continued sotropa.
“she’ll even swim up until bedtime. she’ll go in for one last dip. so she’s the ultimate fitness buddy for somebody who’s looking to get in shape before the summertime. she’s definitely full of beans.”
goldie, however, does have some reactivity to other dogs and other strangers.
“she does express this boldly with barking and lunging but once she understands that strangers can be friends, so after a couple of visits to the home, with her trusted humans, and they’ve reassured her that she’s okay, she’s like her pure self,” said sotropa, who says a home with other pets or small children isn’t suitable.
