the annual cne job fair got underway on wednesday at the enercare centre with 720 jobs still available for the 18-day fair, including cashiers, retail associates, game attendants, food service and cleaning staff, midway operators, and informational guides.
the cne has also rallied other employers such as metrolinx, royal ontario museum, ymca of greater toronto, and the toronto port authority to join the job fair for work available beyond the exhibition’s 18 days for such positions as museum tour guides, promotions ambassadors, bus station attendants, bus drivers, and skilled trades positions such as welders, mechanics and marine engineers.
the cne’s idea was to tackle unprecedented youth unemployment rates in the gta (16.8% at its highest this year in april 2026; 1 in 5 young people aged 15-24 could not find work).
