an unidentified person is sought for deliberately setting a car ablaze in scarborough earlier this fall. toronto police say officers responded to an arson call in the area of finch ave. e. and mccowan rd. on sept. 29.
“the complainant parked their vehicle, a white tesla model y, in a plaza parking lot,” const. viktor sarudi said in a statement released saturday.
he said a person arrived in a red volkswagen suv, parked on a nearby street, walked to the area of the complainant’s car and “placed an incendiary device inside” of the vehicle through an open window.

the person then returned to their vehicle and fled the area.
investigators have released images of a suspect, who is described as 6-feet-tall with a heavy build and was wearing a black hooded shirt, black pants and black shoes.
an image of the suspect’s vehicle has also been released.
