a former fitness trainer at the last door recovery treatment centre in new westminster has been handed a three-year jail sentence for sexual assaults.
sgt. andrew leaver of new westminster police said an investigation into adam haber began in january 2023 when a woman who was at two recovery homes — last door recovery treatment centre and westminster house — where he worked came forward with historical sexual assault accusations.
in total, 11 women came forward and, in may 2023, haber was charged with three counts of sexual assault. by the time of trial, this was reduced to two counts of sexual assault.
haber was found guilty in february 2025 and was handed a three-year jail sentence on nov. 7.
“we’re inspired by the bravery of the women who came forward to speak to investigators about what happened to them,” leaver said. “thank you for trusting us.”
leaver said haber has also been added to the sex offender registry for the next 20 years.
