calgary police have charged a woman after finding over $150,000 of stolen lululemon merchandise — along with drugs, cash and other stolen property — in a northeast calgary residence.
police went to a residence in the 300 block of herron mews n.e. on may 20 around 7:55 a.m. to conduct a curfew compliance check, according to a news release shared by police on tuesday.
the resident did not answer the door, placing her in breach of court-ordered release conditions.
on may 21 at 9:45 a.m., officers came back to the residence and executed an arrest warrant for the breach. the suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody.
inside the residence, officers found drugs, cash and suspected stolen property “in plain view,” the release reads. officers secured the home and obtained a search warrant to execute the same day.
officers seized over $150,000 worth of stolen lululemon merchandise, more than $10,000 in cash, 12 rounds of live pistol ammunition and dozens of suspected stolen identification documents.
they also found 430 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $8,660; six grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $610; 380 grams of cutting agent and 24 packages of illegal tobacco; and, property linked to previously reported break-ins including perfume, beauty products and a coin collection.
cassandra ruby st onge, 35 has been charged with seven counts of possession including:
- two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking;
- one count of possession of stolen property obtained by crime over $5,000;
- one count possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5,000;
- one count of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000;
- one count of possession of an identity document;
- one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.
