the brunswick creek wildfire near boston bar continues to grow rapidly nearly a week after it was discovered.
the initially small, human-caused fire was spotted on july 2 and has grown in size to about 26 square kilometres in the fraser canyon.
the fraser valley regional district has now issued three evacuation orders around boston bar. the boothroyd indian band and boston bar indian band have also issued evacuation orders. there remains one evacuation alert as of wednesday afternoon.
another forest blaze nearby, the ainslie creek wildfire immediately to the east of the brunswick creek fire that was spotted on july 4, has joined brunswick as the only two wildfires of note in the province, the b.c. wildfire service said.

so far, there are no evacuation notices for that fire, which was about 88 square kilometres as of wednesday and is also suspected to have been sparked by human activity.
a yellow air quality warning was issued by metro vancouver for chilliwack, agassiz and hope on monday afternoon but was lifted a day later as coastal flow cleared the air in the eastern fraser valley.
as of wednesday, there are 19 active wildfires across b.c. three of those fires have sparked in the past 24 hours while three others have been declared out.
the wildfire service has warned that after a weekend of hot, dry weather, winds are expected to pick up across the province this week and drought continues to be a concern.
