montreal police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a home invasion and shooting that took place on jan. 28 in the sud-ouest borough. the suspect, 16, was arrested on july 16 in saskatoon in collaboration with the saskatoon police service. he was subject to a canada-wide arrest warrant. after appearing in quebec's youth court, he was brought back to montreal on wednesday and remains in custody. he faces several charges, including breaking and entering, pointing a firearm and recklessly discharging a firearm. on the evening of jan. 28, an individual arrived at the door of a home in the sud-ouest borough, claiming to be delivering a package, police say. when the residents opened the door, the person allegedly entered the home followed by three accomplices, two of whom were armed. during the incident, one of the armed suspects allegedly fired a shot. one suspect was shot in the abdomen, while the resident suffered a minor arm injury. the four suspects fled, leaving behind several pieces of evidence at the scene, police say. two people had already been arrested in the case. in may, montreal police arrested christopher ethan prince, 20, and a 17-year-old minor. a fourth suspect is being sought. anyone with information can contact 911 or their local police station. it is also possible to submit a tip anonymously and confidentially through info-crime montréal at 514-393-1133 or online. rewards of up to $5,000 may be awarded for contacting info-crime montréal with information leading to the arrest of a suspect.
