laiterie de coaticook ltd. has voluntarily recalled several of its white cheeses because of a possible listeria monocytogenes contamination.health canada lists 33 types of recalled packaged cheese on its website, including curds and blocks. the recall notice was posted monday.no one has reported becoming ill because of the products. if someone believes they have become sick because of a recalled product, they should contact their health-care provider or call info-santé at 811 for assistance.recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased."food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick," health canada says. "symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk."the 86-year-old dairy company is based in coaticook, about 170 kilometres southeast of montreal.
