cheese sold earlier this month at a store in the jean-talon market is being recalled because it may contain a bacteria that causes food poisoning.quebec's ministère de l'agriculture, des pêcheries et de l'alimentation, says grondines cheese sold at le marché des saveurs du québec, located at 280 place du marché-du-nord, may contain staphylococcus aureus bacteria.the mapaq says the cheese was sold between july 3 and 15.it says anyone who bought grondines cheese at the store on those days should not consume it.the ministry warns even if the cheese looks and smells normal, it could still contain the bacteria.food poisoning caused by staphylococcus bacteria is characterized by a sudden onset of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, cramps and diarrhea. symptoms usually appear 30 minutes to eight hours after someone has consumed the contaminated food and usually last no more than 24 hours.people who experience those symptoms after consuming the cheese are advised to contact a health-care professional.the mapaq says no cases of food poisoning linked to the recalled cheese have been reported so far.
