kathy griffin has the internet talking after revealing she’s dating a man who is 43 years younger than her.
the 65-year-old comedian introduced her new romance on instagram with a photo of herself holding hands with a young man as he opened a car door for them.
griffin didn’t reveal his name or any details about her new beau, simply writing: “he’s 22. have at it, internet.”

fans wasted no time weighing in, but many kept things lighthearted.
one commenter joked, “he’s 22? perfect. old enough to vote, young enough to think olive garden is fancy. go have fun.”
another wrote, “i’ve been considering bringing my inner mrs robinson out of retirement … he’s cuuuute girl.”
a third added, “if anyone complains about the age gap, remind them leonardo dicaprio walked so you could sprint.”

griffin clearly enjoyed the reactions, replying in all caps: “i am dying at these comments.”
it’s unclear how long the pair have been together, but they were seen on a date night in los angeles back in may, according to the u.s. sun.
no stranger to dating younger men
the new relationship comes after griffin divorced her second husband, randy bick, in 2025. bick was 18 years younger than her. before that, she was married to matt moline, a relationship that was featured on her bravo reality series kathy griffin: my life on the d-list, entertainment weekly noted.
adding to the mystery, this isn’t the first time griffin has debuted a mystery man online. in mid-may, she shared a photo with another unidentified man who appeared closer to her age, captioning it: “we’re insta official. deal with it,” page six reported. that post has since been deleted, according to the outlet.

griffin has previously spoken openly about dating younger men. in an essay for the cut last december, griffin revealed she had fallen for a 23-year-old after splitting from bick.
“i accidentally fell in love with a 23-year-old,” griffin wrote.
she said his age was part of what drew her to him.
“because of his age, he didn’t have the usual sexism, misogyny, and biases that guys my age tend to have. he seemed to see me. i know that sounds really corny. oh god, it sounds so lame! but i felt really comfortable with him, and i felt very content just hanging out.”
