given the already dangerous levels of misinformation circulating around the covid-19 pandemic, i had hoped that gwyneth would just keep quiet about the virus and i would not have to write anything relating to her for a while. instead, goop contributor, friend of paltrow’s and fellow cult member kelly brogan opened the floodgates.
brogan released a video yesterday which made several claims about the virus that teeter off the cliff of disbelief into utter fantasy. this shaman, who is somehow a new york state-licensed psychiatrist, claims that “there is potentially no such thing as the coronavirus†because “it’s not possible to prove that any given pathogen has induced death,†and that the rising death toll caused by the virus is “likely being accelerated by the fear [of the virus] itself.â€
like most stuff out of goop, anyone who doesn’t have cat food for brains will be able to see this for the delusion it really is.
she also does not believe in germ theory and says that the u.s. news media is controlled by a pro-vaccination group, in case you had those slots filled out on your goop nutcase bingo card.
the ultimate plan, she says, is for the government to link passports to vaccination records and create “totalitarian governmental control not unlike the divide-and-conquer dehumanization agendas that preceded the holocaust.”

i doubt that the venn diagram of healthing.ca readers and sincere goop consumers is a large one, but if you are one of those people: covid-19 is a real and immediate threat, vaccines work and there is no secret government plan — just stay inside.
the video had over 75,000 views on facebook and instagram before being pulled. if you’re a masochist, you can watch it on vimeo, where it currently stands at 42,000 views. previously, brogan has said that hiv doesn’t cause aids and that mental illnesses result from what you eat.
similarly, actress evangeline lilly recently came out to say that she won’t practice self-isolation or quarantine, as she thinks “where we are right now feels a lot too close to marshall (sic) law for my comfort.” this, despite living with her father who suffers from stage four leukemia.
lilly and brogan should get together to ward off covid-19 with positive thoughts. that’ll do the trick.
there are other parts of the video that are equally deranged, if not more so, but we’re all having a tough time right now, and i don’t think that exhausting more energy chastising this future darwin award-winner will help anyone not already addled by goop.
