a quebec fishery says interest in its products has spiked in the wake of taylor swift and travis kelce's madison square garden wedding on friday. boxes of frozen lobster meat from Îles-de-la-madeleine's pêcheries léomar were spotted entering the arena in new york city ahead of the highly anticipated union, suggesting the product was part of the wedding menu."we only found out afterward that our lobster had been delivered there," christian vigneau, the president of the company, said in an interview on monday. "we had no idea our lobster was going to taylor swift's wedding." vigneau said pêcheries léomar has received an uptick in inquiries from existing and potential customers in the time since. "asking where they can find our products, how everything works, the logistics and all the rest of it," he said. "here in les Îles-de-la-madeleine, we're very fortunate," he said. "we live in a pure, healthy environment with cold water. naturally, that means the quality of the product is exceptional when it comes out of the water. our job is to honour that quality by preserving it all the way through the supply chain until it reaches the customer." pêcheries léomar was founded in 2023, when vigneau took over an existing company. the name is a play on words honouring his grandsons, léo and martin. swift and kelce announced their engagement in august of last year, two years after they were first linked. their madison square garden wedding drew attention around the world, with many speculating as to who would be attending. quebec lobster may have been one of the more surprising appearances, second only to karlie kloss.kthomas@postmedia.com
