i write breaking news for our van live reporting team and occasionally get sidetracked by a pet rescue saga that simply must be shared. like a good canadian, i also love a weather story.

after attending journalism school in toronto, i worked as an editor for many years there and in b.c., and have covered a wide range of news topics, entertainment, sports and civic issues. my love of sports led to a chance to do research and join the broadcast team at the barcelona and lillehammer olympics.

while raising three boys in the beautiful comox valley, i also wrote a lifestyle column for a few years aimed at embarrassing them when they got older.

why i love journalism

this profession has obviously taken hits, but i’m inspired every day by the people i work with and their dedication to get it right and push against forces seeking to hide the truth and misinform.
