i have been contributing to the toronto sun since 2020 as a print and online editor.
my newspaper career began humbly when i started delivering the neighbourhood pennysaver in suburban ottawa in the mid-1990s. a decade later, i found myself studying print journalism at cambrian college in sudbury before crisscrossing ontario as a sports reporter and editor.
i have covered everything from professional golf, junior hockey and dirt surfing (yeah, it’s a thing) to election campaign debates, homicide investigations and extreme weather events. in 2013, i was part of the team at the kitchener post that won the best sports section award at the ocna better newspapers competition.
behind the scenes, i spent several years as a quality control editor for some of postmedia’s biggest dailies including the vancouver sun, ottawa citizen and montreal gazette.
i currently help contribute to the toronto sun’s news coverage online and can be reached at jercit@postmedia.com. you can follow me on social media at x.com/jordanercit or instagram.com/jordanercit009.

why i love journalism
the people, the stories and that some of us get to cover sports for a living
what i enjoy in my free time
being a dad, running, obsessing over fantasy sports, collecting baseball hats, savouring a pint from an ontario craft brewer
